Both parties present
You must both be in the Bahamas at the time of the application.

One day’s residency
You must have resided in the Bahamas for at least one day prior to the application date.

Valid passports
Both parties must produce a valid passport for identification.

Proof of arrival
Show evidence of your arrival date — the immigration card you receive on entry.

If you’re unmarried
A declaration certifying this must be sworn before a notary public or authorized official in the Bahamas, and accompany the application.

If you’re divorced
Produce the original final decree or a court-certified copy with a raised seal. European residents: provide it in the native language plus a certified or notarized English translation.

Produce an original or certified copy of the deceased spouse’s death certificate.
