Even the Locals Hire Weddings in the Bahamas
Whether it’s two weeks or two years until your destination wedding date, Weddings in the Bahamas can help you design a custom experience that includes ideas for the big day and ideas leading up to it so you can enjoy maximum guest attendance.
For Dexter and Shannen, a long engagement created an opportunity for the two lovebirds. “We met in the Bahamas back in 2008 and he proposed in 2019,” said Shannen, who added, “But no one could have predicted the obstacle we were about to face.”
Waiting for a pandemic to end would be stressful for most couples planning a wedding, but Shannen and Dexter used the extra time to build anticipation and keep their guests connected through updates on their custom wedding page. They also added a virtual streaming option so friends who were unable to attend in person could still participate in the live ceremony.
The couple lived in Freeport during their courtship and their love affair endured over a long distance while Shannen attended college. On an annual trip in 2019 to celebrate her birthday with family in the Bahamas, Dexter proposed and Shannen accepted.
Once travel restrictions were lifted, a wedding date was finally set. Their wedding in the Bahamas took place on February 12, 2022, at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, a beautiful island resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Working with Weddings in the Bahamas, Shannen and Dexter shared their vows in front of family and friends in person and streaming from a Waterside Chapel. A lively reception followed on the resort’s Banyan Terrace.
Even though they knew about the myriad of wedding services offered at local resorts, they hired Weddings in the Bahamas because Anne Marie’s level of service and reputation are unmatched and undisputed.
“Most of our clients are travelers,” said Weddings in the Bahamas owner Anne Marie Williams, who’s also a licensed wedding planner living in Nassau. “So, it was fun to work with a couple who also lives in Nassau. And because of this, I was able to guide them to a collection of local providers they could visit. Luckily, I’ve spent my career in Nassau building close working relationships with many local decorators, entertainers, caterers, florists, and photographers in order to offer another level of creative freedom for brides and grooms. For Shannen and Dexter, this allowed them to truly be part of building their wedding from start to finish.”
From the décor to the music and photography, every detail is planned with care by Anne Marie. The outcome: A truly magical and memorable wedding in the Bahamas experience.
