How to Obtain a Marriage License in the Bahamas
Couples planning a Bahama destination wedding must obtain a marriage license in the Bahamas. The license is 100% legal and will be recognized in your home country. Open Monday through Friday from 9:30am – 4:00pm, the Commonwealth of The Bahamas Registrar General office is located in Nassau. Weddings in the Bahamas will determine if an Apostille is needed ahead of time so the special request is made and submitted properly.
Same Sex Marriage License: While many LGBTQ organizations are advocating for changes to the marriage laws in the Bahamas; currently, marriage licenses in the Bahamas can only be issued to a man and woman.
